Gabriel DiPietro

I volunteered for the BGSU Herpetarium for the Spring 2024 semester.
I had several responsibilities to ensure that the animals under my care remained healthy and well-taken care of.
I was responsible for taking care of 18 geckos ranging from all ages (from recently hatched to mature adults). On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I was responsible for cleaning the geckos' habitats and ensure they had fresh food and clean drinking water. On Wednesdays, the geckos were fed live crickets sprinkled with mineral supplements to give them enrichment. Each gecko was fed crickets based on their individual size.
Once a month, each gecko is weighed to ensure they are developing properly, and to determine if they are experiencing any potential health issues.
