Initially, I intended to give a power red donation at Saint John XXIII, in Perrysburg, Ohio. However, due to the extensive wait time (45+ minutes) and the large number of scheduled donors, I decided to give a whole blood donation instead. It was actually heartwarming to see that many people donate at once. I exited the congregation at 7:00 pm, after I was deemed fit enough to leave.
It was a positive experience and I managed to get over 30 signatures to support the ReStore.
I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for the Habitat for Humanity Wood County ReStore. I assisted with the handling, vacuuming, and washing of donated items to ensure they met state regulations to be fit for sale. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to assist with customers on the sales floor. The staff and other volunteers were easy to work with to ensure everything got completed on time.
Me and my group turned off lights in Shatzel and Williams Halls. I did it because I enjoy helping out in my community. It helps raise awareness of saving energy, which can help curb emissions in the long run.
