I arrived an hour late. alongside 29 other students, I helped clean out one of, or the, flower/ plant bed enclosure behind the green house and its facilities’ building.
I stayed a bit, after a majority of the students left, and helped Dr. Cozza and two other students, who regularly help with the arboretum project, do some final touches and pot some plants Dr. Cozza promised to pot. When I left he told me that he was alright with giving me two hours and 30 mins worth volunteering credit.
I’m thinking of doing the arboretum work as well.

Event: Redland Orchid Festival - Friday
Me and 4 others showed up for volunteer work. We were tasked with picking up trash around the orchid festival and the Fruit and Spice park.
This was truly my first 9-5, and I liked how I spent my time there. Saturday and Sunday are going to be more hectic, so I tried my best to have everything cleaned up for the next two volunteer groups. I did not know about the festival or the park prior to this, but now that I do, I’ll be visiting the park again!
*I attached photos of our sign-in/out sheet and a few pics I took while scouring the park*
I had some prior injuries that weren’t exactly happy to be in close-toed shoes, but once I started really walking around they got used to it. We picked up two invasive species of plant from the nature preserve this time around. Another group cut up some trees.
I volunteered for the Senior Design Showcase that occurred last Friday. I ended up as an outdoor usher. It was pretty fun, and we were in the shade, so I have no complaints. I also had a chance to meet some cool people and gained some sort of customer service experience. The showcase was cool, and I wonder how my senior project will end up.
