The Fruit & Spice Park is a County owned park that is owned and supported by all County residents. It is a unique park in that it's mission is to educate visitors about the edible and economically important plants from around the world and to inform how these plants are utilized by people from all over the world. Since the plants in this park are constantly growing there are always maintenance tasks that need to be addressed. Most of the jobs that we ask of our volunteers are light gardening tasks such as weeding, pulling vines from the trees and fences, and spreading mulch under the trees. When you sign up I will instruct you on the job needed and provide you with gloves and any hand tools that may be necessary. To register, email Louise King at louking@miamidade.gov.
