Volunteering at Somewhere Fest was a fun opportunity to really immerse myself in the Wichita community. I kept hearing about Somewhere Fest but the description of the festival was not very clear about what their mission was. Volunteering there gave me insightful experiences to interact with the greater Wichita community and gain an appreciation for the community Wichita showcases. Specifically, I volunteered for Army of Normal Folk which is a nonprofit organization that helps connect Wichita people with different volunteer opportunities. For example, collaborating with Habitat of Humanity and CarePortal app to continue to spread the word and awareness.
