The "Academic Planning" Mini Session helped me understand the nuances of planning for my education, and how planning ahead builds what happens in our future. Mr. Obregon and Ms. Smith elaborated on academic pathways and how to create short-term and long-term academic goals. Despite the technical difficulties, the main takeaway I received from this presentation was that meeting with our academic advisors is the key to good academic planning.

I attended the Strive ElevateU "Mastering Focus, Discipline & Time Management" in-person session with Mr. Brian Hamlin. It was an engaging session and it left me with more motivation to organize and balance my life schedule.
The AA vs AS vs AAS (and certificates) mini session gave me a necessary refresh on what specific majors are tailored for. Mr. Obregon explained the many nuances of transferring credits and what some schools require for transferring to get a bachelor's degree. The end Q&A session helped me clear up dates for transfer fairs and what schools work with PGCC.
I attended the online "Ready, Set, Know Before You Vote" webinar, which was part of the Voter Education Week. Ms. Paulett McIntosh hosted the webinar with multiple panelists who explored the importance of how our votes affect policies throughout the state and the nation. The webinar advocated the use of voters guides like VOTE411 and using the PGCC student voting dashboard, and was generally informative as someone who's voting for the first time in the midterms.
The virtual SGA Town Hall meeting was informative, covering academic affairs for tech and theatre curriculums. Additionally, the representative of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities gave a talk on the process of filing incidents at the college. Ms. McIntosh covered a voting webinar and a webpage dedicated for registering to vote. The Q&A with Dr. Tyson Beale was informative, as the concerns regarding campus amenities (parking lot lines being repainted) and faculty-student communications were brought up and answered in a clear, concise way.
The virtual PGCC FEC Wealth Building Wednesdays meeting with Mr. Heath was focused on semester-based budgeting and how to control spending habits. It had informative topics (like separating needs from wants) and Mr. Heath engaged with the audience throughout the meeting. In general, he provides important advice and resources for students who need a guide for their financial life.
The virtual GivePulse demo session with Ms. Chantia Sharber and Mr. Elio Cruz helped me understand the tools that Givepulse has, while also showing how to add impacts on the platform. The training showed the correct steps to getting my hours accepted and what things like "disputed" mean for my registrations. Generally an informative and important Mini Session.
