At the Beloved Community Center Get the Vote Out Block Party, I served food to community members, walked with and registered 3 students to vote at the Union Square polling site.

I had a great time working on the grassroots history campaign for Beloved Community Center. It was great to learn about the history of the center and work a project so special.

During this service opportunity, I was able to go neighborhood canvassing for the first time. Doing this allowed me to speak to people in their communities and get the word out and encourage them to not only register to vote but actually show up to the polls and vote. It was a very engaging service opportunity that allowed me to tell others the importance of voting.
