Volunteering with the WPD was an experience I will always remember. Every day, we had the opportunity to spend time with kids and take them somewhere new. Each day brought something different, which kept the experience exciting and gave us the chance to create new memories together.

One of the best parts was getting to know the police officers outside of what you normally see in the community. We laughed, talked, and spent time together while making sure the kids were having a great time. It was amazing to see how comfortable the kids became around the officers and how much fun everyone had.

Being part of this experience showed me how important it is to build positive relationships between police officers and the younger generation. It wasn't just about taking the kids places—it was about creating trust, making memories, and showing them that police officers can be people they feel comfortable around and look up to.

Looking back, I'm grateful that I volunteered with the WPD. The experience was full of fun, meaningful moments, and memories that I will carry with me. Most importantly, I got to be part of something that brought kids and officers together in a positive way.
