I volunteered with Goodie Girl Bags, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women in need. During the session, we assembled bags containing feminine products, bras, and inspiring notes. As I worked on the bags, I felt incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help others while also reflecting on how fortunate I am to have access to resources that others might not.
Additionally, I had the chance to hear my WOW sisters share personal experiences. Their stories resonated with me, as they spoke about challenges they’ve faced and how they’ve overcome them. It was a powerful and inspiring experience overall.

I had the opportunity to tour Howard University and learn more about this historic HBCU. Since I’m from Washington, D.C., I was already somewhat familiar with the school, but the tour gave me a deeper understanding. I discovered that Howard offers my major, Business Administration, and my tour guide highlighted the numerous external resources available to students pursuing their degrees. These resources include opportunities for internships and jobs with major companies.

During the trip, I also visited the American History Museum. Although I had been there before, I was excited to explore the new exhibits and learn about the additional information they included. Overall, the trip was an amazing experience, and I’m looking forward to more opportunities like this in the future.
