As a student state representative of Be Strong, my group and I took a tour of the facilities of the police department of the city of Doral. There, Officer Ricky and Officer Lauren took us through each of the different areas, and we were able to learn a lot about the work that the police do. Thanks to the chief of the Doral police department, Edwin, for the invitation.

Jennifer @ Miami Dade College West Campus

Since I started Dual Enrollment, spending time at Miami Dade West Campus is one of the things I like to do most, thats why I take advantage of every volunteer opportunity to participate. After my week of summer camp, I joined as a volunteer in the summer activities. That was a very positive experience because I was able to spend much more time in the different programs and events that were held there. I also had the opportunity to support the Silver Club as a teacher's assistant to teach seniors how to learn computers. I appreciate the opportunity to serve as a volunteer at the Miami Dade West Campus and hope to continue participating in work like this.

Fostering Tahki and Kilo must have been an incredibly rewarding experience. Bringing up neonatal kittens requires a great deal of patience, dedication, and love, especially during those crucial first months of their lives.
These tiny beings come into your care with an entire world of potential, but they are also incredibly vulnerable. They depend on you for everything—from feedings every few hours to ensuring they stay warm and safe. Over the course of those two months, you likely saw them grow from fragile newborns into curious, playful kittens full of personality.
The bond you formed with Tahki and Kilo is undoubtedly special. You were their caregiver, their protector, and their first introduction to the world. Even though fostering can sometimes lead to bittersweet goodbyes, the impact you had on their lives will stay with them forever. And surely, the experience left a lasting impression on you as well, enriching your life with the joys and challenges of caring for two little souls.
Being a foster parent to neonatal kittens is not just about providing food and shelter; it’s about nurturing life and giving these animals a chance to thrive. Your time with Tahki and Kilo was likely filled with countless small moments—each feeding, every time they learned something new or found comfort in your presence—that made the experience profoundly meaningful.

Help End Diaper Need and Host a Diaper Drive!

The Miami Diaper Bank is a non-profit organization that helps low-income families by providing diapers and essential items. Thanks to donations from various institutions, it is possible to hold these events to deliver items and diapers.

This is the second time that I have participated with Miami Diapers Banck in delivering products to families in need and I have to say that the feeling of satisfaction is the same. It is very gratifying to see the families' faces full of happiness when they receive the donations.

I hope to continue doing hours with this organization since I enjoy them very much.
