I had a wonderful time volunteering with UNCG DOC to help inform people about our mission to help the underserved members of our community receive free dental care and fundraise alongside local business Astro Dogs, who sold delicious Korean-style corn dogs!
I had the exciting opportunity to volunteer at Jones Elementary and give a presentation about dental health to a kindergarten classroom! My presentation partner and I led a session that talked about the importance of taking care of your teeth, asked the students interactive questions, and demonstrated a fun experiment about what happens to our teeth if we aren't brushing and flossing like we should. I had the amazing opportunity to present to a classroom with a Spanish immersion program, and it was a heartwarming experience to be able to present to students who have the opportunity to learn in English and Spanish! Overall, I had an amazing time with my partner and students, and I look forward to continuing to volunteer with this program!
I had the opportunity to donate to the Youth Focus organization through Bridging Basic's Wellness Drive! I donated 5 toothbrush packs, 5 toothpaste boxes, 5 facial cleansing wipe packs, and 5 hair combs to the vulnerable youth that Youth Focus provides services for. It was a heartwarming opportunity to be able to participate with Bridging Basics and its effort to provide self-care items to support communities in need.
I donated six boxes of mac and cheese, two cans of mixed vegetable medley, two cans of sweet corn, one can of mandarin oranges, one can of dark red beans, two cans of black beans, and two cans of chili beans. It was nice to see the donation boxes filled up with items for those in need. Overall it was a heartwarming experience.
I made sure everyone who donated blood was seated and served with snacks, drinks, and free t-shirts.
I volunteered at the EUC Blood Drive serving and helping people with snacks and drinks after they donated blood.
