On behalf of the Student Government Association at Barry University, we were invited to attend FIU Relay for Life for the first time. During the event, we connected with students from multiple campuses, strengthening collaboration and community engagement. Additionally, we contributed over $350 to support the cancer foundation. Overall, the experience was both impactful and highly rewarding for everyone involved.

In this assembly I was able to learn an incredible amount of information regarding the housing crisis occurring right here in my neighborhood. It encouraged me to want to learn more about my community and how to give back and help the environment.

this experience for me was truly a wonderful one! I enjoyed meeting new students from Barry and speaking to the staff in Little Haiti. The work wasn’t too difficult and the weather definitely did cooperate! I loved being able to venture to a new place for me in Miami, and embracing the culture and history. In regards to feedback, I do believe providing more of a breakfast would be beneficial to the students, the bread and milk was just more of a side, but among everything else it was an amazing service!
