It was really nice to reflect on the benefits of SHARP with the people who lead the program. I had a team that was really proficient in their areas of study. Working with them gave me a more holistic, and realistic view of patient care. Being able to express how SHARP impacted me was a great way to conclude my service learning experience. SHARP taught me the value of collaboration, communication, and reminded me of my love for one on one interactions with people. It was a good mix of direct interactions and behind the scenes work. Working with an interdisciplinary team was helpful because I know that I will be doing that in the future. Overall, SHARP was one of the most valuable service learning experiences to date, and I am glad that I was given an opportunity to share that.

Team zoom meeting to discuss patient details and delegate tasks for upcoming assignments
Meeting with a patient from EAB was such a fulfilling experience. It was so helpful to work alongside my partner from the School of Public Health. We worked together really well, and I feel like we were able to cover such a wide range of questions with our different skill sets. Our patient was open and willing to speak with us about their needs and frustrations with various systems. They verbalized their needs so clearly and helped us better understand the barriers that led to the circumstances they were facing. Speaking with the patient was so insightful. I went into the patient interview very nervous and came out feeling more confident and equipped. It was really cool and encouraging to use the tools I've been given throughout my education in a real-life situation.
