I worked with the Providence House to identify needed items and organized a toy drive to support their families. From 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, I sorted and organized donations by age and gender, then delivered all items for distribution. This effort helped ensure children in need received appropriate and meaningful gifts.

From 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, I supported outreach efforts with Legal Aid of East Tennessee under the Family-Centered Legal Services grant. I helped organize and distribute informational flyers and legal resource brochures to community organizations across multiple counties, covering topics such as tenant rights, family law, public benefits, and orders of protection. This work helped increase community awareness of available legal services for families in need.
During the College of Communication and Information Alternative Fall Break service, our team volunteered with Centro Hispano’s after-school program, which supports bilingual and multicultural youth in the Knoxville community. We helped create enrichment toys and hands-on learning projects designed to promote creativity, problem-solving, and engagement among elementary and middle school students. This experience deepened our understanding of community-based education and the importance of culturally responsive learning environments.
Volunteered with Emerald Youth to help clean, rebuild, and organize a local community member’s home. Tasks included deep cleaning, light repairs, decluttering, and restoring living spaces to create a safe and welcoming environment. This experience strengthened teamwork, service leadership, and community engagement while supporting Emerald Youth’s mission to empower Knoxville youth and families.

I assisted the ladies of the Delta Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. with their annual charm clinic for disadvantaged girls aged 13-18. I helped with the decoration and set up of the room and building the charm clinic was held in. I made the flyer, application forms, and promotional posts for the event as well. From July 23rd- July 25th Charm Clinic was held from 8:00 am- 2:00pm. I usually left everyday around 2:30 after clean up when the girls left. I was responsible for set up of all activities. music, and teaching the girls how to make bath bombs and charm bracelets. I had so much working with the girls ,and I look forward to having the opportunity to volunteer again.
