We start new volunteers, train and orient them ( we are a medical office so there is orientation) to assist us, and the medical staff by calling patients' caregivers to see if they need supplies, medications, or basic essentials. We do our best to walk hand in hand with our patients to assist them.
Working in the office, our volunteers add that next layer of assistance. Simple, and intentional.
