I volunteered as a referee in a tournament for kids from an organization called Its Time Texas. Being a referee for the kids was really fun because there was alot of talented soccer players.
I helped fold and throw away the boxes that were unnecessary into the trash. Also helped sort the food into the different categories in which they corresponded!
I went to the Capital Food Bank and help remove all the boxes that were left from all the food that was store in them. I had to throw away the boxes that were no good anymore and sort them out from the good ones. Had to also break the boxes in order to take them to a machine to crush them.
Gather different items from the table and put them in a bag. Also provided items such tissues, disposable razors and travel hand size sanitizer.
I went to the food bank and helped moved the boxes that were filled with food. I had to wrap around the boxes and move them to the designated area. Also had to sort out the food by the labels that they had.
I helped distribute the packets for the participants of the Longhorn 2014 on April 11. Directed traffic when the race was going on. I also helped gather up everything up once the race was over like banners, t-shirts etc.
I felt good about it because I was able to express my gratitude towards those troops that sacrifice themselves for this nation.
It was pretty fun
