I had the chance to volunteer at Backpack Beginnings, where I helped sort through donated food for local families. I went through the items and separated the fresh produce from the older so families could walk in and grab exactly what they needed for their groceries. I'm thankful for the opportunity to lend a hand! It was rewarding to see how a little bit of organizing could make things easier for people in our community.
I volunteered at Backpack Beginnings and spent my time sorting through donated food. My job was to sort the fresh items from the older, suitable foods, making it easy for families to come in and pick up their groceries. It was a simple task, but knowing the food would end up on a local family's table made it feel really meaningful. I'm glad I got to help out and be part of something that makes a real difference in our community.
I helped doubling the grocery bags so they could put the food in their for they children at school.
