During this event we learned about the importance of resumes. We learned which information needs to be on the resume and how to set it up. For example I learned that the fonts shouldn't be hard to read and that the grammar should be double checked. Also knowing our main goal for the resume will be helpful and we should have a 1 inch margin on all sides of the document.
The resume workshop was really helpful and informative. I learned how to organize my resume better and highlight my strengths more effectively. The tips on tailoring it for specific jobs were especially useful. I left feeling more confident about applying for positions.
Ms. Anh Van Nguyen and Mr. Francisco Obregon went over how to create a resume and what resources there are to help not only PGCC students but anyone who can access the PGCC website. Additionally, they mentioned how we can put skills or experience that we did on our own, like coding or building computers, on our resume. They explained that soft skills are important to be put on your resume as well.
