Received an update and reminder on the requirements set by the scholarship team in order to maintain good scholarship standing. Also was told expectancies for the next semester and new plans the scholarship team may bring.
This meeting reinforced the things I already knew about promise and also informed me about some new rules and adjustments for the fall semester
Glad to be finished, this meeting was good, I'm curious how the 5-7 business days system will work next semester but we will see.
The meeting was very informative about the scholarship, this being me first meeting since being with the promise scholarship I learned a lot about the scholarship and the requirements for the scholarship that I didn’t previously know.
It was a nice send off for the year and my academic career here at Prince George's . Thank you special scholarships team for helping me throughout my years here, it's greatly appreciated!
This semester meeting helped me confirm my academic standing AND find a way to calculate my engagement hours for this semester. Based on the five (or six) requirements for positive academic standing, I feel confident I did well this semester.
Today, May 15th at 11:00 AM, a special scholarship end-of-semester meeting was held to review key program requirements and provide guidance on maintaining good standing. The discussion covered essential criteria such as maintaining the required GPA, completing community service hours, attending mandatory events, and staying enrolled full-time. Students were reminded to regularly check their emails for important updates and to reach out to program advisors with any questions or concerns. The meeting emphasized accountability and proactive engagement to ensure continued scholarship eligibility.
I made sure that I was still on track, I've already done my FAFSA and MHEC and I'm just waiting for my summer funds, as I'm already signed up for summer and fall. I was a little disheartened to hear that I can't get hours outside of PGCC anymore because that's where I got my bulk hours since a lot of events were during my class, but I'll see what I can do. It was a good refresher and conclusion for the the spring, and they did a good job on standing on top of questions that people asked, including mine.
