In the meeting, I learned if I ever get a progress report from Navigate, I shouldn't panic too quickly because it can either be about me not attending to my class, not sumbitting any assignments or even a poor activity on Canvas. It is only yo help me understand what is happening.
I also learn about same day advising and if I have any quick questions, I can turn to that but I understand when I do, I won't be talking to my advisor but whoever answers first.
Now I know how to contact my advisor and know what progress reports are !
This event was informative. As a returning student, I had used navigate before. However, I appreciated the opportunity to learn more. For example, we learned of ideal times to meet with advisors and the different kinds of progress reports. Overall, this experience was enjoyable and needed.
Ms. Miller really explained all the different ways to access all the resources Navigate provides. I also did not realize Zoom or phone call was a valid form of contact. I assumed valid forms of contact would be where there was a paper trail. I learned the best times to schedule meetings (September-November or February- April) and the worst times (August and January noon-1 pm). It was interesting to learn there are two different forms of progress reports. I also did not know there was a difference between F and FX. I will apply the knowledge about asking quick questions and using Same Day Advising.
