I worked in the garden by taking out the weeds in the carrots, beets, and onion crops.
Spring is a great time to begin volunteering for Apple Seeds Inc.! In preparation for an event hosting a renowned chef from Florida, we began our day by picking red buds to be used as a garnish in a cocktail. We then prepared the bedding for the new crops to be planted by shoveling the pathways of the farm and contributing them to the soil of the beds. Lastly, we took out weeds for some time before we ended our service by preparing the set up for the event, wrapping utensils in cloth napkins and accommodating tables and chairs. Our volunteer leader was very nice and informative, I learned a lot in the few hours I was there!
I had a great time volunteering at the farm! We made seed balls, which were dispersed and helpful for the environment! We also planted bulbs and picked weeds around the farm.
