Service at Herman J. Russell West End Academy is always a good experience. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6pm I am working with the kids helping to build and strengthen their academic skills in math and literature. On other days we go into clubs such as the fashion or art club led by me and my Morehouse peers, and sometimes we have free days where everyone goes to the gymnasium and playfully interacts. Overall I always appreciate taking time to go interact, hangout, and have meaningful interactions with the kids, as well as the faculty and staff.
P.S. Everyone at the school is hilarious and seeing the young personalities always reminds me of myself when I was in middle school.

Serving as a mentor and instructor at Herman J. Russell West End Middle School was a truly great experience. I worked with the middle schoolers in the AfterSchool All-Stars Program, helping them with math and literature assignments. I was also able to connect with some students on a deeper level, having fun and participating in various activities.
