Thanks for volunteering with Keep Austin Beautiful & South Austin Creek Alliance! Let's do a tiny walk along the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt and back cleaning up small items we see along the way.
Cleanup supplies will be provided on-site. If you prefer you may bring your own gloves.
When picking up litter, Keep Austin Beautiful recommends participants do so responsibly and at their comfort level.
Where we will begin: We'll park & meet at the turn/roundabout area at Auction Oak Dr & Angel Oak street in The Oak at Twin Creeks neighborhood. From there we'll walk into the greenbelt which has a trail along the tributary going into Slaughter creek.
Accessibility: This event may have limited accessibility for some attendees. This will be a trail walk with inclines, uneven dirt paths, and seasonal vegetation along the route. We plan to have a small cart available for carrying trash bags and tools but the trail itself will not be wheelchair accessible.
What to bring: Closed toe shoes, a FULL water bottle, snack, and comfortable clothing. We will provide all tools and neoprene gloves - if you have your own gardening or work gloves you are welcome to bring them.
Youth Volunteers: All volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian must register and attend with the youth volunteer. Independent registrations submitted by minors are not permitted.
Pet Policy: For safety and liability reasons, pets are not permitted at volunteer events. Service animals are welcome.
A NOTE ON SAFETY: We encourage you to “See and Be Seen!” Be mindful of your fellow volunteers and maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times. Dial 911 in case of emergency.

Thanks for registering for the Saturday May 30th cleanup along the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt! We've done a pre-walk and just wanted to remind folks with the recent rains & spring vegetation I recommend wearing long pants (possibly with ankle straps/permethrin to avoid chigger bites) & good shoes (perhaps boots or something with a high top).
We'll provide bags & grabbers and I'll try to bring a personal cart or two to help carry trash. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!
