About

Mission

The mission of the Adult Literacy Center of Ozaukee County is to provide individualized educational services for adult learners to improve academic and life skills in order to pursue their personal, professional, and life goals.

ALC relies upon dedicated, trained volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring to the students. It is the tutors who make a life-changing impact in the lives of our students.  As a tutor you will:
  • Provide one-on-one instruction
  • Serve both native and non-native speakers
  • Assist in English speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension
  • Offer instruction in mathematics
  • Support in other life skills
  • Make a commitment of two to three hours per week.
Students and tutors may work together anywhere from a few months to a few years. Often lasting bonds and friendships develop. To let the ALC know you're interested in becoming a tutor, submit the form below!
