General Farm Help

General Farm Help at UGArden is a jack-of-all-trades volunteer event. Some things you may get into while participating in this event could be weeding some of our plots, planting crops, and so much more. This event shows volunteers the ends and outs of a small-scale organic practicing farm and all that entails. If you are up for learning something new and getting your hands dirty, this is a great opportunity for you! 

A note to General Farm Help Volunteers:
UGArden is located on 2510 South Milledge Avenue, the very next right turn after you pass the State Botanical Gardens. Look for the cream colored barn, this is where someone from our team will meet you! 

There is a UGA bus route that makes a stop at UGArden called, “Riverbend Connector,” and it is by request only. Simply call UGA Transportation, request the Riverbend Connector for UGArden, and you should be good to go. We also have parking available around the corner from the barn. 

Please be prepared for the weather! Dressing in long pants and layers is recommended, even in the warmer months. Close toed shoes are required, a water bottle recommended. Things like hats and gloves are optional, and we have work gloves here ready for you to use. Rarely do we cancel an event due to the weather, but should that happen, we will do our best to give you a heads up the night before. Please check your email for updates regarding this event.
