Little Walnut Creek Cleanup @ Dottie Jordan Park

Join Keep Austin Beautiful at Dottie Jordan Park to clean up litter from in and around Little Walnut Creek and learn more about how you can protect your local creek at 10:00am on Thursday, July 24th! ***This event is part of Keep Austin Beautiful's response to the recent flooding in Central Texas. As such, the litter coverage is expected to be significant and may be difficult to pick up. We will be working close to and within the water. Please come prepared for this type of work.***

We will provide cleanup supplies on site as well as sunscreen and bug spray. We will meet near the southeast corner of the park, near the basketball court and parking lot - look for the Keep Austin Beautiful event table and signage!

Please remember to wear close-toed shoes and durable clothing as the terrain may be rough in some areas. Conditions may be wet as we will be working along the creek; please dress appropriately!  Long pants and a hat are also recommended. Be sure to bring a water bottle and stay hydrated. For volunteers with limited mobility, it is recommended to stay along main trails and pathways. Areas closer to the creek side may present an additional challenge.

When arriving at the park, please remember to hide any valuables and lock your car before checking in. Parking is available in the lots on site within the park. Carpooling is highly encouraged!
