Funky Fabric Fridays! Fabric Donation Processing

Come join us for a fun afternoon volunteering and connecting with fellow communiy members! Funky Fabric Fridays are all about processing the most interesting categories of fabric - from sparkly pink vinyl, to purple fur, and fluffy batting. You'll help us sort, measure, and price all this donated funky fabric, preparing it to be resold at our creative reuse center. Bonus, you’ll get first dibs on the goods before they hit the floor!

This is an indoor, seated/standing event located at Austin Creative Reuse in Windsor Park. You will be helping out in a room that can be a bit chilly in the winter and a bit warm in the summer, so we suggest you keep this in mind when dressing for the event.

Austin Creative Reuse is a Austin based non-profit that aims to foster conservation, education, and community building through the creative reuse of old items and the reuse of creative items! We take in ~50,000 lbs. of donations every month and we rely on volunteers to help us process all those donations! Most items we resell at our center at very accessible price points, but we also teach people new creative skills in our classroom, donate supplies to schools, and attend community events to teach our youngest generations about creative reuse.
