Shoreline Stewardship | Invasive Species Management

The Trail Conservancy continues to protect, enhance, and connect trail users to the Ann & Roy Hike and Bike Trail. One way to enhance and protect is by aiding native plant communities by reducing the pressure of invasive plant species along the shoreline of Lady Bird Lake.

Staff will identify invasive species and educate volunteers through mechanical removal (weed wrench/uprooter). 

• Meeting location: Butler Shores. Please look out for the orange TTC tent
• Parking locations: Butler Shores Parking Lot
• What to bring: Volunteers will need to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and bring a filled water bottle. TTC will provide gloves, tools, and other materials. 

About The Trail Conservancy: 
Trail users will help steward the land surrounding the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake. By stewarding the land, volunteers will help improve and protect the natural areas around Lady Bird Lake, an essential refuge for wildlife within the City, and connect riparian corridors and numerous protected areas up and downstream. The natural areas serve both resident wildlife and countless migratory birds and butterflies.

The Trail Conservancy's mission is to protect, enhance, and connect the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake for the benefit of all.

Los usuarios del sendero ayudarán a administrar la tierra que rodea el sendero Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail en Lady Bird Lake. Los voluntarios ayudarán a mejorar y proteger las áreas naturales alrededor de Lady Bird Lake, un refugio esencial para la vida silvestre dentro de la ciudad, y conectarán los corredores ribereños y numerosas áreas protegidas del río arriba y río abajo.
