When planning for your shift, please consider the following:

  • Parking at schools is limited so please account for the time it may take to secure parking and walk into the building.
  • Before reporting to the media center, volunteers must sign in at the front office.
  • It is crucial that volunteers plan to stay for their entire shift.
  • BFK staff will provide a brief orientation during the first 10 minutes of each shift.
  • You will be on your feet for most of the time, please wear comfortable shoes!
  • Until COVID vaccines are available children ages birth to five, please plan to wear a mask while volunteering unless told otherwise by BFK staff.
