Free Store Volunteer - Basement Organizing

Help us organize the Free Store's basement! The Free Store here at UTK needs volunteers to help us sort and organize our basement storage areas to efficiently receive upcoming winter move-outs and improve our inventory layout in general. If sustainability, circular economies, thrifting, and/or frugality are your jam, this opportunity will be right up your alley.  Volunteers will: Remove clutter from shelves, totes, and racks by organizing items that haven't found their place. Aid in setting up staging areas in the basement that correspond to where different item types—like clothes, decorations, office supplies, small appliances, and more—are arranged upstairs, making it easier and more intuitive to sort and restock items efficiently. Sort and categorize donations like clothes, decorations, office supplies, small appliances, and more. Prepare items for easy transfer to the main floor, where shoppers can access them. We'll provide gloves, masks, and detailed floor plans to guide you. Please dress comfortably. Gloves and masks can be found at the front desk. Address: 915 22nd St, Knoxville, TN 37916 (Entrance at wheelchair accessible ramp)Note: We have both ample bike hoops and parking space for those needing to commute :)  Y'all's help makes sustainable thrifting possible for our campus community!
