About

Backyard Harvest believes that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy produce, and we work throughout the Palouse to help make that possible. The core of our work is partnering with our community to connect those who have extra fresh produce with those who need it most. We harvest fruit from community members' bountiful backyard fruit trees and gather produce donations from local farmers and gardeners, and then deliver it all to food pantries, senior meals, youth programs, and emergency shelters.  In this way, we also reduce food waste!

Volunteers are essential to our organization's work, and we can always use more hands to help!

Many of the volunteer opportunities with Backyard Harvest are on short notice - we schedule gleans as soon as possible when a local grower contacts us.
