Volunteer Dental Receptionist Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a welcoming environment to patients and anyone who enters the clinic.
- Greet and assist anyone who enters the dental waiting area.
- Answer reception phone and assist with responding to messages in a timely manner.
- Assist with patient scheduling.
- Work with patients to complete paperwork and financial information.
- Send out text reminders for patient appointments through text messaging.
- Share any relevant community resources with patients
- Coordinate aspects of care including referrals
- Assist with special projects.
- Keep the dental front office clean and well-organized.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, college preferred.
- Knowledge of dental scheduling is helpful in this role, but not required.
- Strong customer service, phone, and computer skills.
- Ability to work with people from many different backgrounds, good interpersonal skills, ability to work on a computer.
- Dependable, able to take initiative.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are extremely helpful.
TRAINING PROVIDED:
- Lahai Health will provide training on our internal systems and processes, as well as Patterson Fuse software.
